Sub-Zero Kirkland

About

One brand. One category. Done properly.

We are an independent workshop that services Sub-Zero refrigeration and nothing else. No ranges, no dishwashers, no laundry — the narrow scope is the whole point.

Why the scope is this narrow

A built-in Sub-Zero is not a big domestic fridge. It runs two independent cooling circuits, a defrost strategy that depends on accurate thermistor readings, and a control board that will happily report a plausible temperature while the cabinet drifts. Generalists tend to swap the part that is easiest to reach. We would rather instrument the fault and replace the part that actually failed.

That is also why we say no to work outside refrigeration. Depth beats breadth when the equipment costs more than a car and lives inside custom cabinetry.

What we will tell you honestly

Some units are not worth repairing. A 1990s cabinet with a failed compressor, a rusted evaporator and a discontinued control board is a conversation about replacement, not a quote. You will get that answer on the first visit rather than after two parts orders.

And if the fix is a filter change, a cleaned condenser or a door seal you can reseat yourself, we will say so. Several of the field notes on this site exist specifically to save people a call-out.

What drives the number

Coming out costs $89, flat. That buys the visit and the full diagnosis, and it comes straight off the repair the moment you approve it — so the assessment is never something you pay for twice.

After that, the figure is the part your serial actually takes and how far the cabinet has to come apart to reach it. A gasket on an accessible column and a sealed-system repair on a built-in that has to be drawn out of its cabinetry are not the same job, and we will not pretend they price alike. Each repair page prints the band that work falls into, and you get a firm number inside that band, in writing, before anything is ordered.

Next step

Tell us what it is doing. We will tell you what it is.

Model number and a description of the fault is usually enough to narrow it before anyone is dispatched. Kirkland calls booked before 11:00 are normally seen the same day. The service call is $89 flat and comes straight off an approved repair.
